Back Online Again

January 10th, 2010 was down for a few days due to a failed drive in the server. We are back up however some time in the near future I will have to replace the bad drive. I will schedule that for evening hours when the camera is not viewable.

I just fixed the snapshots page that I did not know had quit working :-\

I am watching the cutest little sparrow in the window feeder right now eating the millet. I am not sure of the identification and will have to drag out the field guides when I head downstairs. Later, Jim

Cold Weather, Busy Feeders

January 4th, 2010

It’s like 19 degrees Fahrenheit here this morning. All of the feeders are busy. Out front I have a Brown Thrasher going back forth between the suet feeder and scratching around in the leaves. A Blue Jay and Red-bellied Woodpecker are also nipping at the suet. There was a Carolina Wren sitting on top of one of the shrubs watching the activity. On the ground I have Dark-eyed Junco, White-throated Sparrow and a male Eastern Towhee picking out tidbits. The sunflower feeders are busy with Mourning Dove, Northern Cardinal, Tufted Titmouse, House Finch and American Goldfinch.

Out back I also have the American Crows gathered around the cracked corn tray. A pair of male Eastern Bluebirds are visiting the feeder cam as well as the suet out front. I am inside with my coffee :-)

Welcome to WingbarsCafe. The site consists of a webcam focused on a sunflower feeder and blogs posted about bird and other wild animal activity in the yard. Also featured are motion activated snapshots that may give you a chance to get a better look at birds that have been at the feeder.
