Dry Day Brings Out A Hummingbird

October 15th, 2009

We have been having so much rain lately, I have not been changing the food out at the feeder cam. This past Tuesday was one of those few dry days we have had recently. I put fresh food in the feeder cam tray and filled up all of the other feeders. I was rewarded with the Rose-breasted Grosbeaks visits to several of the feeders. I was also cleaning all of the hummingbird feeders and taking down all of them except one in the front yard and one on the deck. Later on the day I spotted a lone Ruby-throated Hummingbird at the feeder on the deck. This was the first hummingbird we have seen in a week or more.

Cool. Male and female Rose-breasted Grosbeaks arrived on the feeder cam today.

Sad Morning

October 1st, 2009

This is the first morning in weeks that I did not have to fill up the hummingbird feeders first thing. I envy those of you that get to enjoy them all year long. Later, Jim
