Finally caught this cute little creature on the feeder cam. It is a Southern Flying Squirrel. If you look closely at the picture, you can see the loose skin between its front and rear legs. I had seen it at the feeder cam once before, however I did not have the lights on the deck turned on and it did not show up on the camera. Cool, Jim.

Hummingbird Numbers Increasing At Feeder

July 15th, 2009

The hummingbird numbers are finally starting to show some promise. Up until this week, we had not seen more than one Ruby-throated Hummingbird at a time. Even at that, we would go all day and never see one at the feeder. Susan saw a chase take place at the hummingbird feeder yesterday and I saw one chase today. Nothing new to report with the rest of our feathered visitors.

We have a lone doe White-tailed Deer that visits the corn tray once or twice a day. We have at least one Cottontail Rabbit that is also hanging around the corn tray. The Grey Squirrel numbers are very high this year. That’s all for now. Thanks, Jim.

Wingbarscafe.com Site Changes

July 13th, 2009

The Internet connection has been fixed and is stable now. There has been a lot of downtime over the past few months. For those of you that hung in there and are still here, I thank you for your patience. I am also working on the Feeder Cam page. It is now fully integrated into the site for a more consistent appearance. I will likely be making some more updates to the site in the coming months. Thanks, Jim

Finally got around to calling about the Internet connection issues. They overnighted a new modem to us. Wingbarscafe.com downtime issues should now be resolved :-D
