Pine Warbler and Red-winged Blackbirds
I have seen the Pine Warbler several times at the window feeder in the office over the past week eating sunflower meats. I also saw a Red-winged Blackbird at a sunflower seed feeder in the back yard on Saturday. It was the first one I had seen this year. My son told me he had seen a number of them in the yard. It’s good to hear we have had them around for a while. They are my favorite member of the Blackbird family.

The Eastern Bluebirds have started checking out the nestbox. We hope to have babies again this spring. The Pine Siskins are still hammering the sunflower and niger feeders. Scrappy little guys. We changed the seed in the window feeder in the office to a blend we found at Walmart. It is called Nut N’ Berry by 3-D Pet Products. It contains sunflower meats, peanuts, sunflower seed, safflower seed, pistachios, pumpkin seed, dried raisins and dried cranberries. The results are wonderful. Now we have the Eastern Bluebirds and the Pine Warbler coming to the window feeder. Wonderful to get such up close views or them. I need to spend some time to get a current visitors list together. Thanks for stopping by, Jim
